After my wheel building episode this afternoon I am hoping to address the weighty wheels that Uphilljunior has on his GT Zaskar.
Would like some light 24inch rims but all I can find online are dirtjump heavy things. Had thought BMC cruiser race rims might be the way ahead but really want disc specific if possible. Anyone got any ideas and hopefully from a supplier that will ship to Aus.

Cheers.

Is 460g light though. Might be around the ballpark for a 26 inch XC rim. Would it be possible to get something a little lighter maybe?

Slightly random, but have a look on Tartybikes.co.uk, they are a trials specialist I have used for years and 24inch rims are becoming very popular now, there is a chance they might have something suitable. Weights on there are pretty reliable as they weigh the items when the put them on the site.

Alex Ace 20 which are used on brompton and spech kona scott et al used to use, they are lightest available and double wall wiht eyelets. Not easy to find by I finally tracked down Alex european agent (after trying to buy for hong kong aeller!) and about to buy 2 rims. black with machined sidewalls. see this http://forums.mtbr.com/families-riding-kids/built-some-24-wheels-839948.html

quote from Alex - rim is 16,70 + VAT, postage to the UK is 13,79 + VAT

email me if you want more info, see if we can share postage

dragging this up again but Stans have released a 24 inch version of the crest weighing in around 310g. same price as the 26 inch versions so not cheap. I managed to get a pair of ace 20 rims (415g) which are getting laced onto a set of superstar switch hubs as we speak (should come in at just over 1700g)
