I’m after something that is lighter & packs smaller than my Rab Cirrus, which I wear all the time but isn’t really small enough to take in a frame bag and is too warm a lot of the time.

My wife has the perfect thing but I can’t find what it is, something that Rab used to sell but seemingly no more.

Have seen the OMM Rotor Smock, anything else to look at please?

Doesn’t have to be bike specific or a posh make. Don't want to spend too much but it seems that cost is inversely proportional to warmth…

Cheers

I have an Endura Pro SL Primaloft gilet which I often carry as a warmer. (Not much use if you're also after sleeves but they do a full jacket version too). It's much thinner/more compact than, for instance, my Montane Prism.

Patagonia Micro Puff is pretty much perfect for this use. It gets worn almost every day throughout autumn, winter and spring. Taken it bikepacking for keeping warm once stopped, wear it under a jacket when snowboarding, down the pub, and everything in between.

Yes it’s expensive but it’s still going strong after a decade. When it finally has had it I’ll buy another one without a second thought.

Cheers both, I’ve just ordered the Patagonia Micro to try, looks perfect if you ignore the cost!
Looks loads nicer than the OMM one.

If you’re anywhere near Ashington the Montane factory shop has these for £54

70% off due to some issue with the baffle alignment - damned if I can see any problem!!

I have just treated myself to a Gailibier Colombière Pro Jacket (£80) as my boys keep stealing my Rab equivalent. Not quite as silky next to the skin but a nice bit of kit with a dropped back for cycling.

If the micro puff is a bit pricey then the Alpkit Heiko is very similar.

SO bought the nano puff one chilly day in the Lakes many years ago. Still going strong. Packs down small enough to make it no bother to take it on any trip.
