After this thread, I managed to pry the light out of my m8 sticky little hand and test it with his and my own batteries. Even using a fan on fun power it would still overheat, admittedly inside a warm house.
Both batteries could be pushed to an hour and a bit, with lots of cooling, so it seem the issue is mainly overheating & maybe a small degradation of the battery life. Maybe not so much of a problem as the weather cools but I was wondering about opening up the head unit and adding in some heat transfer paste to make the trasnfer from the heatsink to the case more efficient.

Worth having a go?

The only paste I have is CPU/fan stuff but I assume this would be better than nothing?

Anyone taken a Wilma to pieces?

Any hints?
