So, I've had one of these Chilli Tech lights for a few years, with the biggest battery pack, and it's a nightmare to secure the battery pack.

CREE 2400 Bike Light for MTB

This year i'm going to fit some bracketry to my bikes

On the Top Fuel I'm thinking about fitting a Granite Portaledge XE and strapping the battery down near the BB

On the Banshee Spitfire i will try to use a 76 projects piggy (which i already own), the alternative would be the  standard Granite Portaledge and mount it at the top tube to seat tube junction, but i need to add a bottle mount here to take it. I'm not drilling the frame.. So i need a good strap on bottle mount that wont shift and fit tubular area snugly

So questions

is there better strap type brackets for this, ie i would prefer the strap to be wider at the base than the approx 50mm on these brackets?

best bottle mount base?

Any idea what cable connector would be required to extend the light/battery cable?

and best way of tying the cable to the frame? not cable ties.. not permanent bases? maybe a rubber stretchy strap?

I use Wolftooth B Rad

It bolts to the bolt cage mount, and I remove the strap and use the battery velcro mounts around it/ through it

Short top tube bag mounted under the saddle?.  Most have a port for cables.  Just check the height against lowest dropper / saddle point.

I think Jagwire do some clever cable guide thingymajigs for your last point.  Obvs for brake/gear cables but might work anyway.

yer wolftooth b rad, granite portaledge, 76 projects piggy all pretty much the same idea, the battery pack is huge, 10400mah 8 cell, so it swings around lots

oo ill take a look for the jagwire clips

Be careful if strapping down by the BB as the battery will be more open to the elements if not properly weatherproofed. Maybe double wrap in clingfilm if just heat shrink and card spacer.
I am pretty sure a standard light extension cable will be long enough, if you need a custom built one please ping me an email.

Like chaos says above I use a top tube bag attached just behind the bars and chuck my battery (and spare) in the bag. Chucked some parcel insulation sheet inside to help against the cold as well.
