needing a new small light for use on mtb on road sections - quite fancy a rechargeable one. Don't need commute type burn times as likely to be used for less than an hour per ride, plus the very occasional murky road ride, again sub 2 -3 hrs.
Zecto seems decent for the money ?
arghhh, just seem the other similar post
I just got one of these a couple of weeks ago. Pretty similar sort of thing http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/252102237321?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&var=550945083129&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Seems ok; run times and charge times aren't as good as this little beauty though
do those ebay ones have similar charging risks to some of the unbranded front lights?
They look decent value, but not if they're going to set my kitchen on fire, which I would not expect from a Lezyne or other decent brand....
(Exposure user for front lights 🙂 )
Well, they just charge via USB so I can't see any risk really.
The one in the second link is probably what you're after really; seems a decent little light, and it's well sealed against the elements.
I don't like the flashing modes they do. Fast flicker is what you want, but Lezyne seem only interested in slow blink or really slow blink. Motorists can see you, but only if they are looking at the right time... 🙄
The Zecto has a mode where one LED stays constant and two alternately flash which is what I use most of the time. It creates a good flickering but constant light.
thanks - ordered that second one in link above - looks like ebay wiggle shop, or a good impersonation, based in Portsmouth...
I use a zecto on my commuter for the front - seems pretty good to me
it has a flashing mode where one is permanently on and the other two flash - the other flash is all 3 but it's fairly fast so that it looks like overall on, it's not a gappy flash (unintended spoonerism !!! sorry...)
It's a great little light - has been serving me with no issues for the last two years.
Actually last night a trail-runner I met in the woods on my way from work commented that it was very bright.
The 5th mode is very powerful - enough for daylight commute. When it's dark - even the "low" mode is more than good!
