Hi all,
Been holding off buying a GPS for a long time as they have either been expensive and bulky with a map on the screen, or just not appeared to have the required functionality for off road navigation. The Lezyne phone connected ones seem like a great idea, map on your phone but then navigation pointers on the handlebar. However they appear to be road use turn based navigation, would this work off road where there are no roads or junctions? Any experience of this or other similar GPS (assuming they exist?)
Thanks
From the screen shots on the magazine advert I saw, it does a breadcrumb trail too, like the Garmin 200. Follow the back line, if you go wrong your marker moves away from the line. Bob on. It's what I use.
Does that work for a standard gpx route then? I couldn't work it out
Think it does if you have the .gpx on your phone but it won't recalculate the route, just flag if you have veered from it.
Yeah that seems like what I want
Which Lezyne gps have you got? What do you think of it?
Er, I assume that's directed at me. I don't have a Lezyne, I've got the Garmin 200, wasn't entirely clear in my first reply.
My point was that the breadcrumb trail function looks similar between the Garmin and the Lezyne, (in the photo's) which is fine off-road IMHO. The Garmin has no function to partner with a map on a phone, so doesn't entirely meet the OP's requirement.
Sorry, no, was meant for captaindanger...
