Has anyone ridden a mountain bike around this bit? Looks like there's a few Strava rides on the heatmap around there, but having not been there I would have thought it was pretty flat around there.

I mean the bit south of the Beddingham roundabout and the A27, not the ones facing Ringmer or the SSSI!

No help at all but I used to dig jumps in those old chalk pits as a teenager in the late 90s.

I only found out about it recently due to an article where the police fined a group of motorbikers for breaking covid rules! Not visited it

Yeah, same! Found some videos with crossers on there, which don’t look super promising, but may have enough for an super quick blast from town. May stop being lazy and investigate!

You can cycle to Friston, but it’s a fair old trek there and back. Not much out Ringmer way as far as I know! Further afield there’s Bedgebury and some good stuff out at Steyning.

Friston isn't that far, but it is a weekend ride rather than an evening zip. The best route is probably over caburn, across the valley and up onto firle beacon.

You can get a lap of stanmer in from Lewes and back inside 90 mins.

We used to pedal over to Friston from Seaford train station when we were poor students without cars..

Morning all,
I’m Ringmer based. Not much but cheeky off-road to be fair. Caburn is all footpath and with the amount of walkers at the mo best avoided. It’s good in the evenings!
There’s a good run out to Alfriston and back. All off-road from Firle.
The country lanes are great for miles out towards Laughton/Ripe and beyond.
Friston is well worth the effort. Proper grin inducing singletrack fun in the woods. There are pub options in Lullington/ Alfriston and Cadence cycling cafe for coffee at the Long Man Brewery.
Heading west through Lewes puts you out on the SDW easily enough via Black Cap/Lewes Prison. Easy for Brighton/Stanmer.
Drop me a line if you fancy a tootle at some point.
Tim
