Hi,
does anyone know the maximum seatpost insert for the specialized Levo SL gen 2 in size S3? I have seen 240mm quoted on Geometry Geeks and the Specialized shop in Birmingham said 200mm.after a quick check’. 200mm seems short and 240mm I do not know the source of as I cannot find anything from Specialized directly.
can anyone help from experience?
thanks,
steve
To get the definitive answer, measure it.
Just fitted changed posts in my S4 - a 180mm drop One up V2 at 267mm will fully slam in the S4.
This doesnt specifically answer your question but it does lend me to assume the answer will be closer to 240 than 200.
Note also the cable/lever mechanism on the OE X-fusion seatpost is quite big, and will hit things before the mechanism on other posts (like the Oneup).
Thanks for that Snotrag!
'I just switched to one Up V3 180mm in my S3. But not with 34,9 diameter but only 30,9 (adding a shim stack to „travel from 30,9 to 34,9). Like this, The seatpost nearly fits completely into the saddle tube'
'I measured the max insert of my S3 at about 230'
Not me but from the levo sl owners group on facebook. If you figure out how much they 34.9 will take let me know as I'd like to up my travel too as I'm on the 150 with a chunk showing. I think I'll probably end up shimming just to try to get the length I want because I don't like oneup posts and they're the best in terms of insertion length.
Gone for a 180 OneUp V3 in 30.9mm. Will let you know when I fit it. I think I could have maybe squeezed a OneUp 210mm reduced to 190 but for me, that would have been 240mm inside the seat tube…… I feel the 180mm is safe for me based on the following and the insert length is 200mm
