plan was/is to copper plate it (anyone got a lab power supply I can borrow? 🙂 ) polish back the logo to pewter, and let nature/chemistry take its course on the copper. Black pen for now...

I've previously used JB Weld to mount Litespeed head badge and it's really good stuff.
