Going out to Les Arcs in late July, and just trying to gather info in advance. Previously been to Morzine where you can but the VTT trail map from Tourist Info, showing all marked routes and lifts. Just wondering if Les Arcs have such a map as well and is it the following:

Or are there other maps available?

Nope map is a pile of Poo, mostly fireroads.

Either get a guide or get good at exploring.

Personal experience was with White Room but lots more around. Generally if you see something and go down it it will either be great, scary or crap!!

It's about as far from Morzine as you can get in terms of organisation. If your mobile have a look at Tignes for a day and La Thule over the Petit col de St Bernard

Approach to La Varda (Les Arcs resort)

Yeah that maps rubbish - I'd hook up with Trail Addiction and at least get a days guiding. You'll never ride anything awesome otherwise...

That is the same map I used, the best trail on there was black8 off the funicular lift.

We used a guide for one day who showed us lots of cool trails, of 1hour plus descents. Double header and La Varda spring to mind. That set us up for the rest of the trip.

The guide we used was Rob from coolbus, he's a really nice guy and super quick!

I loved Les Arcs, the riding is awesome, more natural and much higher elevation than morzine, so has longer trails. Plus less braking bumps!!
Have a great time 🙂

The VTOPO guides, which sometimes have GPS downloads inc. , I have found for the Alpes-Maritimes and Provence have always been excellent routes. They have 1'25k marked maps and are always cleverly planned to get the best singletrack. We tend to ride hard XC eg 7 stanes red/black and avoid jumpy routes and don't mind climbs. Although the VTOPO routes tend not to be monster climbs.

Best route I did was just inland from Grasse, above the Gorges De Loup. Brilliant ancient roman sheep trails and 6inch wide singletrack contouring and descending.
