Took a cheeky day off yesterday with 2 biking friends to go to Lenzerheide for the day. Anyone else been? What a place!

We just did one route - 616. 950m ascent, 3500, descent.

https://arosalenzerheide.swiss/en/Region/Tours/616-Biketicket-to-RIDE-rot_tour_2811055

Shit the bed, that was probably the most fun day on a bike I have ever had, and this was just one of the many possible routes.

51km route, some lung busting ascents (not too many, most altitude gained on lifts), one section that was, for us, unreadable (V steep rocky, tight switchbacks), a few KMs of fire road.

The rest? - miles and miles of glorious Singletrack.

True natural singletrack - some fast and flowy with lots of little pop offs rock jumps (but careful of landing, pedal strikes V easy when the trail is so narrow), some steeper stuff with careful choice of line required through rocks and roots (or just hitting with speed!).

Some above the tree line on real moonscape rocks, then zooming through endless whoops and yumps in the forests.

The first descent is from Piz Scalottas starts at 2500m ish, and basically finishes in Chur 30km later and after 2000m descent. **** me. What a ride.

I’ve been so used to ‘alps’ being bike parks, and the fun, but repetitive nature of the riding. A few days in Davos this year, and Flims last year, opened our eyes to more natural, lift assisted ‘enduro’ riding.

It’s all well signposted, easy to follow, download the freely available GPX if you want the extra security (we needed it a couple fo times), so not secret off piste or anything like that. So easy to access, and so much bloody fun.

Sorry for the non-gnar photos, too busy riding to take many. I am also sure there is more awesome trails all over the place that these middle aged biffas have yet to find, but my goodness, that was awesome.

Highly recommended!

Hi Mrmoofo - you mean the bike park stuff? No, we didn't, but my son has a few times and rates it highly, although I believe the difficulty ramps up pretty fast.

If you mean the other 'Enduro' routes from the very top (e.g. Tour 1 looks bloody fantastic), then no.. not yet!

A note about Lenzerheide itself - lovely vibe about the place, the lake in the middle looks bloody lovely too, crystal clear water, nice beach, floating diving platform etc - we need to go back!

For the day.. good stuff but how exactly did that work?

Seems like a lot of travelling with not much time to hire a car / bike etc
