Need some recommendations for leggings for the longer legged man (6' 4" with 36" inside leg). Both autumn and winter versions if possible.
Used Aldi leggings last year, and although they did the job were a little short in the leg, came dangerously close to builders bottom level during rides and stitching needed repairing almost weekly.
Same here bibtights with stirrups just break stitching and rip my nuts apart
For colder riding I have:
Roubaix over-the-knee bibs, or
Ron Hill Tracksters (unhip but good), or
old Pearl Izumi unpadded 3/4 to wear over normal shorts, or
old Endura full length roubaix bibs, or
knee warmers in any combination
Get your feet sorted and you don't need to worry about the calf area. I tend to find if my feet and knees are warm I can cope with anything at all.
I've got some leg warmers which fit much better than any leggings I could find.
As per TT - good shoes (speshy defrosters here) and endura thermolite 3/4s when it's chilly to keep the rest of me warm. Middling conditions to light snow I just use knee warmers.
Also an extra layer on the core helps keep extremities warmer, as you're warmer.
But then I don't feel the cold, so maybe I'm the wrong person to be posting on this 🙂
Great suggestions guys. Now need to look at shoes too.... 🙂
Endura Thermolight bibs look good. Any idea on the leg length?
Saying that last year I rode with knee length Seal Skin socks so calf area shouldn't be a problem. May just go for 3/4 bibs.
Any other shoe suggestions?
My thermolite 3/4 larges just come past my knee. I'm 6'4". Ideally they'd be longer, but they do. And I can tag team with knee warmers too if it gets really chilly (speshy roubaix ones).
6'2 with really long (spindly) legs here, 3/4 bib and leg warmers are the only comfy option
I've had a pair of Northwave boots for a few years now and they have been great. Warm, mostly dry and just keep working.
bib longs with stirrups.
you can't actually stand up straight but the natural tendency of the slightly too short elasticated clothing to bend you double means you're just the right shape for riding a bike.
