Anyone not tighten up the crown nut (top nut on the lefty) with a tool, so that they can reset the bearings when out riding?
Just abandoned a ride as the fork sounded awful, got home did a bearing reset and it's back to it normal joyous self.
Obviously you need to be careful not to the loose the collets if doing the reset out in the wilds, but there a huge thread on the top nut, so it's not like it's just gunna undo and fall off without being obvious.
Daft, or a worthwhile idea?
I only did mine up hand tight never caused any dramas. Was a 2005 lefty max, never had to do needle bearing reset tho I just left it hand tight so I could adjust the preload on the trail.
