I carry my bikes in the back of the car and have to take the wheels off to make it work. On the Fat Caad with the Lefty Olaf this means the brake caliper has to come off too. Today on arrival at the cycling venue the head sheared off one of the brake caliper bolts which are a non standard type, hollow with a very fine thread.
My Google Fu is obviously weak at the moment as I can't seem to find where to get replacements from. Anyone able to steer me in the right direction?
I don't get to see them very often, but i'm picturing long chainring bolts in my mind.
Ah, maybe. Will go and see what's in the odds and sods box. Thanks.
Think there are two types of metric thread...
Metric
Metric Fine
Pitch is coarser on the metric *ordinary*.... Metric Fine used in more stressy situations (rotor bolts on motorbikes IIRC)
Check twice, use once type of thing as they don't play nicely.....
From my experience try Qwerty cycles for anything Cannonade related. Although that may not help you if you wanted to pick up some bolts locally today. Cant hurt to give them a call they may be able to point you in the right direction. I'm not sure exactly what bolt you need but just remember as it's part of the braking system it will most likely be hi tensile not just any old bolt.
Coatesy, you were bang on, thanks.
