Lefty DLR Ti, 2001 vintage I believe + a slightly older vintage ham fisted mechanic...

The lockout lever used to turn about a quarter of a turn from full lockout to un-locked. Somehow (don't ask) I twisted it past one of these stops.

Now it just rotates in either direction without stopping. It still seems to lockout at points, and un-lock at other points. Its just like the end stops have been killed.

So, question 1. Is it still safe to ride? Question 2. Whats the fix, send it off to the pros?

Cheers

Send it to Alf Jones in Wrexham, they will strip it and service it for about £90...

Spot in Job on mine from the same era that had been lying around since 2003...

Thumbprint tuning (my choice everytime for Lefty's) or Noah's Arc can take a look for you, otherwise lots of DIY info on the C'dale MTBR forums.

I asked a similar question the other day and all responces from the lads were the same names..
Mines off on a trip "uoop North" (if Wrexhams in the North, ha)
I've delved into Dales forum too and most state not to take it apart due to the spring preload pressure, you need a clamp both ends to release the spring otherwise it'll take your eye out as it recoils, boing!!
Other stuff really relates to bushes and lube.. worth a good read witha bottle of Red though.
