I must admit I had avoided posting this on here, as it was not my place having known Lee but not as a close friend. Our local cycling community is in shock. Lee was an inspiration to many and a great guy. It was obvious via facebook that he had been deeply troubled of late. The world is a slightly poorer place, I hope ultimately he has gone to a happier place. Ride on Lee
saw this yesterday, sad news, followed his exploits from time to time, shame he got shafted by Guinness a few years agohere
RIP from the Manx Fatbike massive
I enjoyed watching his video updates whilst on the road, lots of funny stories. He was an amazingly strong rider, mentally and physically. Gawd knows how he managed to dig so deep and keep on going on his challenges. Sadly a very tragic end. RIP
Only know of him via his exploits - deeply impressive as they were.
Ride free and may your mind be easy.
Terrible news, was lucky enough to ride with Lee for a big 500km event a few years back, he was a really strong rider and a nice guy and kept in touch when he did his European record and when he attempted the Trans-Am, he was always happy to respond to messages. He did ride with his heart on his sleeve and i think was one of those that tried to pedal away his demons. With entries opening for TCR and similar races at the moment, i was just wondering how he was doing as he hadn't been on Facebook or social media for a while and i wondered what his target for this year would be. A horrible loss and far too young.
