Sometimes, there is a bit of time to waste. Just noticed Leckwith Woods and its quite near by.
Any trails or funs bit for people like us ?
Mostly "Through Country" for me and Hardcore Woodland Trail Mincing.
Basically is it worth bringing the bike from Bristol.

I've never ventured over that way, sorry. There are trails to the north of Cardiff in the immediate vicinity of Castell Coch though.
I haven't been to Leckwith Woods on account of it being on the other side of town, but Castell Coch is the premier "just outside the city" spot to while away as much time as you want. Either go to the main car park on the North side of the woods and follow your nose, or ride the road up Rhiwbina Hill and when you get to the woods pick a trail on your left.
EDIT just checked the Strava heat map and there are no signals at all in Leckwith woods so I wouldn't bother even going over there. Your other option is the woods by the quarry by Taff's Well. That's now marked on Google Maps as 'Steely Quarry MTB trails'.
Leckwith woods is a no-go for trails, too overgrown and unkept. It's also a bad place to be solo as it has a reputation (more from the past admittedly) for being where stolen stuff is dumped, mopeds and the like. The stuff by Castell Coch is the easiest to access if you're in Leckwith, just link up with and go up the Taff Trail.
If I was local, local there would be a few trails in that wood by now.
Build and they will come.
