I've currently got a SRAM one that squeaks within a couple of hours of being tightened. What's the solution?
Hope have just released one that screws into itself, I've just had one fitted, first ride today, I'm hoping for no sqeeks
Either one of the threaded ones, or deep cups (CK or parlee) coupled with green threadlock (studlock)
Just replaced my Wheels Manufacturing pf30 bb for a Praxxis model. Selling the wheels manufacturing one if interested. Replaced bearings and is 6 months old. Shop hadn't fitted it right so it destroyed the driveline bearing but also cracked my crank. Was very good whilst it was fitted, no creaks or other noises.
I'd recommend it over the plastic crap that gets fitted by default as it has replaceable bearings (as do most aftermarket systems).
I went for the Praxxis one when I bought my frame but as it was late being delivered, I nipped to On One and got a cheap KCNC one to make sure I could ride immediately. Ii wasn't expecting much after internet criticism but its still going strong after 400 miles in all weathers. I know it's not many miles for one but if you believe what you read on forums then it was only supposed to last me to the top of my drive.
My Gusset one is good, done 12 months of use which is quite a lot of miles and racing.

The wheels one lasted approximately 6 wet rides on my bike, then the D/S cup decided to repeatedly walk out of the frame & the lip got destroyed, so the whole thing just fell apart. Glad I didn't ignore the instructions & glue it in, then it would have been a real pain to change the bearings.
Praxxis went in next, creaked occasionally, I could never get it completely creak free. Bearings lasted about 3 months, then they were rough & gritty.
Sold the frame at that point anyway - the whole PF30 thing is a bit crap really. Maybe the new Hope one that screws together in the middle would be better? the Praxxis one was certainly better in that respect - still not as good as an HT2 style BB.
I think it's going to have to be a screw together one then. I almost went for one when I built it up, but the LBS said they were all much of a muchness. The sram one works fine but just sounds annoying. It's funny how squeaks and creaks can ruin your enjoyment of a bike. It's fantastic when I've got headphones on.
