I’ve got a fifty quid discount code from Strava and any idea how it sizes up?
I got some dhb Aeron bibs, I’m a small, 30” waist, the small were so tight i had trouble getting them over my knees? The medium fit but snug, probably could have gone large!
There is still a passing resemblance to Max Wall.
Comes up quite small I think. A bit like Italian sizing. Nice stuff though, very classy.
Cheers fella.
I don't own any but certainly looks the part imo, I might get some next time I'm in need.
Edit - totally unhelpful post, sorry OP.
A few friends have it and rate it. It does look well made.
It's fairly common for bibs to be a bit tricky to get on even if they fit OK. I think it's the compression fabric that does it.
What can often help is rolling up the leg grippers before you pull the shorts up - that way they'll slide over the tricky bits more easily. Then just roll down the edges and you're good to go.
Thanks guys, all reply’s greatly received.
I need another jersey so I may as well give it a go with such a decent discount.
Don’t know if it’s just me but I always seem to right on the cusp of sizes, be it bikes or clothes. It’s a right pain in the arse.
I used a similar offer a while ago to get a Sport jersey and some socks. On reading the size charts I went medium (I’m usually large in Rapha) and it’s definitely the tightest jersey I have. I could probably do with a L but the medium fits so long as I’ve not been over indulging. Quality seems reasonable and it looks nice.
They make/made some of their tops using a synthetic fabric called Meryl. I've never been able to afford Le Col stuff but the only other company that I know that uses it, is or was Etxeondo and when I tried a pair of their bibs that was made from that fabric I thought it was seriously nice quality. Not really sure why no one else uses it really. Very smooth to the touch.
Our club uses it for kit, seems to be well received and they have been very prompt with deliveries - not tried it myself.
We have either elite or pro versions of kit, pro seems to be aimed at the racers elite the rest
5 foot 8, 69kgs and a small. It’s tight but medium is a bit loose.
I’ve got a couple of jerseys in the pro race range, also bought with the £50 discount. I normally wear a small on Rapha, id say that Le Col is better for me. Jerseys are proper length, so not short at the front.
also ordered one in the strava promotion. Seems I shop at the other end of the rack to you lot though!
I don’t think anyone has ever bought Le Col without getting the £50 off. It is pretty good tho’
They’re always rolling those Strava promotions, you only ever need to wait a month or two then go ride your bike. I got a jersey a few weeks ago with a voucher and it’s pretty nice, not sure I’d go full price but then again you rarely have to!
That said a friend I ride on occasion with really rates their gear and it does look good.
I've got some bibs, they're really good. In fact, I've just taken them off 🙂
Agree, I’ve got some bibs and a top and they are both really good quality. Arguably better than the castelli stuff.
Good to hear that you rate their gear. I’ve ordered a jersey and a few other bits so will see how it goes.
Just looking to order a jersey, any recommendation on sizing?
The sport bibs are rubbish, Rapha core is far superior in my opinion.
Its the Sport Jersey II I was looking at , not bibs.
@ogden, depends what size you are I guess. I wear an XL in the sport II jersey. I'm 6'1, 85kg, 41" chest with a long torso. Fits me well. It's by no means baggy but it's not racing cut either
Well if you lot are all wearing it then I can't possibly be seen wearing the same.
Hahaha I’m so glad I wasn’t the only one that felt duped, got £50 off and I’d never normally buy LeCol but thought I couldn’t turn down £50 off so ended up getting their water resistant jersey for colder months as it was one piece of kit I didn’t have...
Quality is great, I’m 6’1, average build (bit of a covid belly) and the only thing I’d say is the XL could be slightly longer in the arms but should be fine for me as the gap will be covered by thick gloves
I have the sport 2 short sleeve jersey, I think the sizing is exactly as the size guide for me as a medium. Really like the jersey
Also have the new sport jersey and sport bibs. I also have the le col pro jersey and pro therma. Pro range is a good fit, I find the Sport range too flappy. I’m 69kgs and a size small.
Strangely the bib shorts are a medium and are tight. They’re ok, only used once indoor and once outdoor. I certainly wouldn’t pay full price, but £130 for bibs and jersey seemed good value.
Just to add I bought a pair of the woollen liner gloves to get the free postage, they are the same, except for the Le Col logos as some I bought from my local walking shop for 2 quid, the le Col ones being about 20 quid!
The top I bought is really nice and very comfy but I would say it’s very delicate in the fact that the first time I washed it it must have snagged on a zip or something and now it’s got a pull in it.
