I have a 2007 Meta 55 and am thinking about putting a layback seatpost on it. I think the new 2010 ones come with a thomson layback post and I would like a bit more of a stretched out feel when in the saddle.
Has anyone done it and what do you think? Does it put too much of your weight on the rear and does the front wander on climbs?
I felt it was too far back and got a 90 mm stem instead. It messed up the handling when descending and made the front feel too light when climbing.
My 2007 Meta(small) cam with a layback, I'm sure, which promptly bent.
It was replace with an Easton layback and I put a slightly longer stem(15mm?) on too as I found the steering a bit sharp.
My other bike(HT) has the short stem and I am used to that now.
