anyone tried one of these? Looks like a viable (but cheaper) alternative to the HD Hero.

can't seem to find many reviews though.

I was just googling for reviews and this thread was in the top 5 results, no luck otherwise though.

Looks to me as though it's worth a punt for the money given the specs

How much does it cost?

Its good that it has an LCD screen, but the specs are quite far off what you get with the HD hero.

yeah, i thought the specs were some way off. I was hoping i might find a video on youtube of someone at least using one, as there's nothing on the website.

Its especially tempting as i've seen it for half price at £45! But we tried one of those little ones off deal extreme and whilst the video was ok, it gave me a stonking headache!

On this deal it's £45 plus postage (£5 IIRC)

yeah that looks pretty close. Video quality looks ok considering fairly poor lighting conditions.

That footage looks pretty decent to me.

Is the Youtube link from the Ebay ad? Can't see on my phone and the Bay is blocked at work

Getting a couple next week to do a review. Will be taking them snowboarding first. Not meant to be a competitor for Go Pro as the spec is lower but still 720 HD recording at 30fps with wide angle so should be good for most. RE https://twitter.com/SnowandSunUk/status/307553052787896320

Right guys brought a 'LAVA sportscam' from Sports Pursuit a couple of weeks ago, was heavily discounted £45 down from £99, DO NOT BUY THIS PILE OF CR*P!!! trust me this camera is absolutely rubbish beyond belief! I took it along to a Team time trial at the weekend to give its first go, here's the results -

- quality very poor and this was on its highest setting its even worse on the only other lower setting, this is only 6 mins long as it decided to turn itself off, then when transferred the avi to my pc the avi was corrupt! used virtual dub to try a get something from it. All the mounts fittings are very poorly made and there's lost of gaps between them all so the even when you tighten up the screws, bolts, etc there's still loads of play left which results in the camera wobbling and shaking horrendously even on good flat roads. Now the shutter button is broken on mine literally on its second outing! so I used the touch screen to start recording and went for a ride and it captured 9 seconds before deciding to pause its self again! sent it back today and gonna dig deep for a Go Pro. Please don't waste your money, very probably the worst purchase I've ever made and my first car was an Austin Maestro!
