What is peoples experience with the life of latex inner tubes for road tyres, more specifically how long do they last?
I have some that have been used for over a year, does there come a time when they should be swapped out for new ones, or can you just keep using them (like normal ones).
Thanks.
Many many years. You do know that tubular tyres have latex tubes? You’re more likely to kill them by poor installation when you swap wheels and tyres. Or so I’ve errr heard.
It helps not to leave them completely flat with bike pressing down on them. But that’s true for the tyres mainly.
I fitted one to a bike for a few weeks, never rode it, and when I removed it it had 'deformed'..best way to describe it was that it had 'wrinkled'..is that the norm with latex tubes?
I used to use them for years no problems. You'll only die of pumping them up everytime you want to go for a ride.
