Looking at the Merlin website does not give an option on a direct mount front mech for 2X11

You don't wanna do that you wanna 1X11 innit!
I've a 10 speed one that will work fine for sale in the classifieds
seen to many people struggle on 1 x11 and lots of broken mechs in the Lakes
Suspect Merlin buy from whatever OEM source they can - OEM options will be limited in terms of ft mech formats in particular as there are so many.
Shimano do offer direct mount mechs in both conventional and side swing configs.
Why does a 1X11 mech break more than any other??
Chain growth on FS bikes not accounted for when chopping the chain.
Less likely to be in big/big for any length of time on a 2x so can get away with cack-handed spattering more easily. But on 1x in lowest gear, mech is at max capacity, so hitting a substantial bump, and you could go outwith the mech's capacity and kill it. Need to add in a couple of links to give breathing space.
Not sure your record with 2x10 and mechs is all that 😉 You might be safer with a single ring.
Merlin don't always offer every variation possible, hence the bargain price. There are loads of direct mount XT 8000 front mechs. But which one?

Work out what mount and what pull and whether your frame needs a side swing or can take an ordinary top or bottom!
No idea why Merlin don't want to offer such a wide variety oç11
