Shakedown ride on my new #Cheatingandgivngup bike.
No pics as I was having too much fun giving up on life 😉
Happy New year mate.
And just look at all that beautiful MTB terrain in the backdrops 🤣😉

Depression lifting short ride up Merryfield with the girls
4 of us hit Pillowell and Dowies in the FOD for wet and sloppy fun. And what joy! Can honestly say that was the most fun I've had on 2 wheels in quite some time (and I always enjoy my rides). A great (if mucky) way to end the year. Let's hope for a bit more stable and dry weather in 2024
40km gravel bike ride on the coast. Blue sky for the most and not a drop of wind.

still not feeling 100% over the virus that’s been living in my upper respiratory tract for the last ten days, but managed a loop round Burncrooks reservoir (and a coffee at Carbeth).

50 icy miles to the West coast for Hogmanay. Got a bit wild on the high ground for a while!
20+ miles round the absolute filthfest that is the FoD for me. Great way to finish the year. Surprising number of mtbers out - well done! Back in time to watch local hero Henry Hook VC in Zulu.
My initial thoughts were yesterday’s ride. We were up at my folks and decided to see the sunrise 🌅. It was bloody freezing!

And then remembered that the last was technically today as we took our Tern GSD out for bits. You get some strange looks with two adults on a cargo bike! The equivalent of a car journey for most tbh.

1.5 hours at Puddletown with a close friend I’ve not seen for a while, stopped raining at 9.30, started riding at 10.30.

@ditch_jockey I think I saw you on the way up to Kilmannan/Burncrooks - on my gravel bike. Some pretty pish conditions, but good to get out.
@sillyoldman - was that you just at the top
Of the draggy climb up past the sawmill? Someone came past me at that point, going well!
Smiles not miles over here. Junior was loving life on his new balance bike.

I'll start pedalling again soon when I can face the mud.
@Welshfarmer, we may have crossed paths, we rode Dowies shutcastle and over too the trail centre.
Quick spin round the local before we headed to the coast with the dog.

Fantastic pics as always colournoise.
Out for a short 22k local loop, plugging through the slop. First ride of my newly built up Ti Hardtail, built around a second-hand On One Vandal frame, and other bits from a donor bike / CRC bargains. Currently in trail MTB mode, but will get a second set of lighter wheels (and possibly a carbon rigid fork at some point) and XC tyres, and run it as a 'gravel-plus' bike for long non-tech/gnar rides & a spot of bike-packing.
@ sharkattack
Made good use of a small space at Charnock. Especially the best bit, the attached dirt jumps! Shame the pump track is a touch on tight side for MTB's though!
Would be nice to see the pump track, intermediate dirt jump combo adopted for other small urban sites/corners of existing parks up and down the country!
