You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Put for a blast round the woods on my HT I managed to recreate the Stans advert where the sealant seals holes made by sharp pointy things.
On a bit of single track I felt a few roots hit the rim, stopped and squeezed the tyre, it was a tad soft. Span the wheel and found a 1.5" wood screw stuck in it, unscrewed it, span the wheel and it sealed, I was most impressed.
The worrying thing is, this bit of trail is a fair distance from anywhere where you would find something with wood screws and is part of an upcoming race, I do hope there aren't more scattered as unless you went down the trail with a magnet you won't find them.
So... You were impressed because something worked just like it was supposed to? 🙂
I mean, it's great, but not so long time ago people were rather used to things that just work, nowadays it seems that we got used to shitty products with great marketing and we are impressed if they work good! What a time to be alive!
Don't take it personal, just my morning grumble.
Back when tubeless was a new thing, I used to carry a drawing pin in my bag and pretend I was adjusting my tyre pressure by poking holes in my tyre.
I was impressed due to the size of the hole, I was less impressed that the screw would appear to have been left on the trail, maybe a few more that I missed.

Lol. What bollocks. As if marketing hype is a new thing! Read an old MTB catalogue...
Stans is a great product and when it does work it's great, I'm always in awe when it happens, espicially when you hear the air coming out pssssssstttt and then it stops!
