As the title, got some time off after the BH - where to go with a family of 4 (girl, 5&boy 2) that will allow me to sneak off for an afternoon on the trails. Bonus points for somewhere with dinosaurs. We're in Surrey, but happy to go anywhere.
Wales. Both south and north would give you decent natural and trail centre riding close by.
Not TOO far from home either in terms of travel time.
Not sure about dinosaurs though?
Wookey hole (Somerset) for dinosaurs.
The excellent Quantocks are not to far away for riding.
the lake district
+1 for the lakes but sorry to break the bad news, there are no dinosaurs anymore.
what about the reactors at Sellafield? arf.
North Wales.
Around Festiniog there's loads to do, caverns with trampolines in, zip wire (£50 a pop though) Antur Stiniog, Marin trail, Penmachno, Llandegla, then there's the usual old Welsh tourist stuff, slate mines, hills, beaches,
The Isle of Wight. Dinosaurs and riding both available! Close'ish so you don't spend much time travelling, but involves a ferry trip so you will feel like you are on a proper holiday.
Plenty I options of accommodation, stay near Brighstone for easy access to trails, coast and views and not far to go for dinosaurs 😀
There's a dino park outside Dumfries - you can then take your pick from the seven stanes trails which are all pretty close by. Bit of a trek from Surrey though !
Another vote for the Isle of Wight, seems to fit the bill
