I recently sorted a Pinnacle Lithium for my partner for gravel/XC riding stuff. This one:

https://www.evanscycles.com/pinnacle-lithium-5-2018-hybrid-bike-EV275575

I put some wider bars and a Hope/Stans/Maxxis tubeless wheelset on there for her, but with relatively narrow 2.1 tyres.

Anyone know what's the biggest tyre it'll take, particularly at the front?

Evan's say 29x2.2, but I reckon slightly bigger would go without trouble if I choose something without chunky side-knobs. I'm thinking a 2.35 Ikon.

It's going to partly depend on the tyre brand. Do some measuring then Google Fu for some actual tyre sizes not what manufacturers say, sure I  saw a website once that had real life tyre sizes.

Yea, I guess I didn't start this in enough detail. I realise the answer is going to depend upon tyre brand/model and rim width.

I'll likely be going with a Maxxis Ikon, Crossmark, Ardent Race or similar, and it'll be on a 20mm internal rim.

Pinnacle LTD (assuming its the same frame) is fairly tight with conti 50mm tyres on. I've got guards on top - which suggests you'll get a 2.2.

I'd be surprised if you'll get 2.35.

Have you measured the width? IIRC chainstay are the narrowest part.

The fork will probably be fine.

Yep, I think it's the same frame.

I haven't measured the chainstays yet, but there's not a massive amount of clearance with the 2.1" Pace she currently has at the rear.

I reckon a 2.2 would fit but a minor buckle would soon be a problem, and her riding aint the smoothest yet, to put it bluntly... (although she made it around the Dalby red, which I found pretty impressive for a new rider on a rigid bike)

Clearance at the front is definitely better, but I'm finding it hard to judge what'd fit. Ideally I'd get her two front wheels set up, one with a 2.1" fast rolling thing, the other with a 2.6" Nobby Nic or something, but I doubt the latter would even spin unless I trimmed all the knobs off...
