Hi
I am looking for a large size hydration pack like the Camelback HAWG for all day riding. I need space for gear plus lunch, camera and mini tripod. Budget about 70 GBP max.
Are there any lower cost alternatives with the same quality and features (helmet strap, durability, airflow etc) as the HAWG? I don´t necessarily need one that comes with hydration bladder as I already have several but do want a bag with integrated slots for it and the tube.
Thanks in a advance!

Check out the Osprey raptor. Available in a few sizes but the 18 is pretty spacious and has plenty of features. Really comfy in use as well (although I appreciate we are all different shapes)

How much lower on the price do you mean ?

Camelbak Hawg here Camelbak Hawg£62.50

Camelbak and Osprey are top quality. My old Camelbak is still going after ten years of constant abuse.

Just to add to my first post some of the non bike specific Ospreys are still good for biking. The Talon has a bladder section but no helmet clip (although you can clip ia lid on ok). Cheaper than the biking stuff.

The Talon has ...no helmet clip

Mine has the elastic + plastic widget. Designed to go through the vents in a lid and works pretty well.

Got a good value Source Whistler 20L from JE James a couple of months ago which is good and pretty roomy.

They are still just £54.95: http://www.jejamescycles.co.uk/source-whistler-hydration-pack-id89899.html

I did a short review on my blog if it's any help: https://gorillainthepeak.wordpress.com/2015/11/30/kit-review-source-hydration-backpack-and-endura-neoprene-gloves/

Hawg works for me on the longer rides where I need to pack a bit more in, very good pack especially in winter rides with the built in crud / rain cover

I have a Camelbak Hawg that I bought ages ago thinking it would be the perfect bag.
Don't use it much on the bike as it's a heavy old thing before you even load it up.
Having said that,it's very, very comfortable,so I kept it and use for hill walking.

Evoc Trail here too - the 18L as the length on the 20L was pushing into my neck.
Over the budget but when you factor in the back protector and bladder it is bloody cheap!
If you want to pay less then go to Decathlon - you'll struggle to beat them and can test them out in store unlike eBay.

Arc'teryx Chilcotin if you can find one at the price - I got mine half-price on Sportpursuit. A bit like a Wingnut but properly made.

Personal fave is the Hawg & over the last few years it's got a lot lighter as the old version from 3 years or so back was a heavy old beast, mine has integrated rain cover & quick release drink tube, I ride with light weight knee pads so no need to stash anything too big, I can get everything in for a big day out in crappy weather spare gloves food etc tools tubes eyc but just treated my self to a KUDU on merlin for 64 quid

Has to be Evoc fr trail.
Great space superbly thought out, 3L bladder space and back protection.
Not to mention that you hardly know it's on your back!
