Hi Guys was wondering if anyone has tried the KCNC BB90 one off ebay as mine has gone again saw this but not sure its going to be Better than the shimano BB92 Press Fit I already have replaced ??
Cheers
Was thinking the same for when mine dies.
Its been discussed before

I think the general consensus is that the BB on Zesty's is utter bobbins.
I had a KCNC. I didn't have it in that long (but much longer than the standard shimano one lasted) as I swapped it out when I changed cranks and that needed a different bb.
Seemed fine. There's only one mating interface between the two halves, rather than a sh1tty plastic sleeve between the two cups like Shimano.
They're about the same price as Shimano so you've not got much to lose. Well, not when my Shimano one lasted a handful of rides. Rubbish.
My experience from the thread linked above;
"For what it's worth, my experience;
Shimano; didn't last very long (6-9 months)
KCNC; looks lovely but seemed too tight in the BB shell. The lovely looking O-rings just ended up all mashed up and deformed by the time the thing was actually installed (using a headset press), so it never really sat straight. No better external seals than the Shimano anyway.
Enduro Fork Seals; By far the best. Actually has what you would call a seal on the outside of the bearings rather than just the top hat reducer shim things in the others. Cons; have to order from the US so takes a couple of weeks to get them."
I slapped grease into my bb when I got my zesty,refitted the chainset and its still fine after 10 months. It gets 5 hours use on just about every weekend and a minimum of 2 night rides a week lasting around 1 hour to 2.5 hours.
Like the ht2 bb on one of my other bikes that is still going after 6 year or so of use.. it looks like if I keep the hose away from it and keep packing it with grease then it should last for a few more years. The folk that destroy bearings are usually the ones that think they are going easy with the hose and bike cleaning chemicals.. when they aren't at all.
Why do people think its acceptable to have pack things that come from the factory, for the purpose of mountain biking - i.e a muddy, dirty, wet, grit infested environment - with more grease to make them last?? I've got better things to be doing with my time, even if it is only "5 minutes" of a job.
You couldn't easily repack Shimano square taper bb's and oh, lo and behold, you didn't need to cos they actually lasted like they were meant to.
Anyhow, rant over. 😉
The KCNC one virtually pushed into the shell on mine and was fine. The plastic top hats were fragile but it came with spares.
Well I have better things to do with my time than write or phone up the people that make these things to moan about how long they last. To solve (or at least make things last a little longer) I don't mind smearing in a bit of grease either side of a bb unit. It takes about 1 minute.
It's crap having to do extra stuff to new parts,yes.. but If it can help in any way then I don't grudge that minute.
