Bottom bracket on my brothers zesty has started grinding(six months old!)
pretty badly, so what are the options for replacement? and how easy to replace are these press fit bb's?
Very easy. knock out and press in a new one, more like a headset than a traditional bottom bracket. hardest job will be finding out exactly which one of the myriad of new standards he has fitted, most likely BB86/90
THe problem is that when washing your bike the water gets in between the post and frame and slowly eats in to the bb
wash the bike upside down.
wash the bike upside down
then it shags the headset!!.
.....cant win
just out of interest.
can you fit a normal threaded bb in these frames.

can you fit a normal threaded bb in these frames.
No, the shell is longer as the cups sit in, integrated.
BB wise next time mine goes im going to get one of these...then when the bearings fail replace with normal bearings.
Unless Lapierre changed the 'standard' recently, then this is the BB you'll need. There is an alternative called the Enduro or something, but its more expensive and from the USA. Thats it...no other choices!
If you can fit a headset, you can fit this BB.

6 months use is twice what i got out of the Race Farce BB on my 5!
I'll try the Enduro Forkseals one when my Zesty's BB dies.
Re-fit with Chris King, or Hope ......... for a longer life ....... !!

Change your press fit to threaded if you desire.
Lapierre Zesty's are not BB30 Bruneep.
How would the above work?
