Once the stock BB brakes on a Zesty can the frame be faced to accept a Hope or similar BB? Searching the web there seems to be a few reviews of problems with Lapierre BB's.
There also seems to be a few stories of frames cracking and there being poor customer service from Lapierre.
Has anybody broken a Zesty in the UK?
Zesty is BB92 Press Fit BB, you get a standard Shimano one or one from null. I've heard a few stories but my Zesty has been fine so far (Since last June), there's a 5 year warranty on the frame.
Lapierre/Hotlines have been excellent in customer service.
There are a few broken like every brand gets.
The BB's are fine provided they are not overly pre-loaded and you keep a jet wash away from them.
My first one didn't last long (about 4 months, although that included some Merida marathons in crappy conditions), the replacement has been fine since though.
Fuzzywuzzy - did you get your BB replaced under warranty? mine has gone after 2 months.
Mines doing ok.
if you take your seatpost off after a wet ride and tip your bike upside down you,ll be amazed how much water comes out.lapierre,s leak like ****.
it gets in via the seat tube.If left in this is what knackers the bb as there,s no hole drilled in the bottom of the frame.
Nah, didn't even try to get it replaced under warranty, although it went a bit quicker than I was expecting I had given it a fair amount of abuse. Also I wasn't aware at the time of the frame collecting water, as Rob says above, make sure you drain it after a wet ride/wash (or drill the BB shell but that was a step too far for me...)
My brother has a 2010 zesty which has gone through three bb's so far, as above it seems to hold a lot of water which must be getting into the bb from the seat tube, he stores his upside down now and the third is lasting much better! He has bought one of the Enduro one's but not needed to fit it yet so cant comment other than it looks and feels good!
On the warranty thing his frame did crack around the bb shell but a new front triangle was supplied within a month by Hotlines.
