Anyone got one? Any problems? Does it go OK?
Not looking at getting e.i, looking at putting a CCDB inline on it.

I have the zesty which is the same frame. I put a 160mm pike/ccdb inline on it which effectively makes it a spicy!
Its a great bike have ridden everywhere from local trails to EWS and havent had any issues. Only annoying thing for me is that the rear brake caliper is inside the rear triangle. It gives it protection but there is not much space in there so really big calipers wont fit. Sram/Shimano fit fine but my hope/magura brakes would not fit in

Ah right. Shame about the hopes though. Do you think a saint caliper would fit?

Have a look on the German sites if yr looking for a new one, there was some right bargains to be had a bit back, like the 2014 ones at half price.

Here's mine, just swopped tyres over ready for tonights mud fest. No problems with it after I junked the Ei setup, just had a couple bearings to replace. Bit wide in the rear but don't get much heal rub, just a few black rubber marks from my FiveTens. Good climber with the Db Inline, brilliant descender. Weighs around 29ish in this build. It's my only bike so gets used for everything. Seen some very cheap frames online

Be interested to hear of those!
I've seen a 2015 frame at a very good price.
Lovely looking bike. The martini colours are ace. Is there a dropper on there?

I have a Zesty with 160mm forks so effectively a Spicy. Non-EI too but I was steered away from the CCDB In-line and got my RP2 PUSHed and added a Vorsprung Corset Air Sleeve. And I have a set of Hope E4 callipers. Caliper space is not an issue but hydraulic line routing is not pretty, but it works.
Issues: I can't fit a 2.35 tyre in the rear without chain stay rub and piggy back shock doesn't fit.
Otherwise, it's a great bike up and down hill!

Great info ta. How the hell can there be limited tyre room if the stays are so wide????

Check out the pic from the rear on the Pinkbike review

http://www.pinkbike.com/news/lapierre-spicy-team-edition-review.html

You can see the how wide the seatstays are compared to the chainstays.. not sure why the comments on rub relate to the chainstay. I've taped my seatstays, adjusted my heel outwards and it's now no problem.

The 2014 bike is specced with a 2.25 Hans Dampf on the rear, which I think is a Pacestar supplied with the bike but you can only get them in Trailstar OEM. I never got to the bottom of this so if anyone is any the wiser??

I did try a Rock Razor but it rubbed on the welds. People on here do run 2.35 no problem. However, the spicy is a carbon rear end so, you might get away with it. I now have a Nobby Nic on the back... Might try the Minion DHF next.

psst, you didn't hear it from me OK,
but the Spicy has changed for 2016, new look frame, (got pic but can't show it yet :!:) they also up the travel, 160front, 165 rear (but I double check the rear) longer slacker lower - same lines as Zesty.
there are a few2015 spicy 327 and spicy 527 bikes left, (and frame sets left) depending on size. Sure you local Lapierre dealer will be able to help with end of year deal. 😉

Keep you eyes out for more info of the spicy from euro bike.

2014 Alu Zesty here (same frame as alu spicy). Have 160mm forks too so effectively a spicy configuration. Run a 2.35 Hans Dampf (so a big 2.35) with no clearance problems. Mine has the basic fox evo shock which will get replaced eventually but the quality of the suspension set up negates a lot of the negatives of the basic shock.

Anyone know if a new rockshock piggy back air shock will fit or am I limited to a fox or CCDB inline?

What rim are you running that HD on Razorrazoo? And on what size frame out of interest?

I'm on a Medium and running Hope Enduro rims.

Race Face turbine wheelset that came with the bike and a medium frame. Where is your rubbing, on the chain stays is assume as loads of clearance on the seat stays.

Yes on chainstays. There is 3mm difference in the OD of our rims,... I wonder if that that's the answer!

I'll have to have a look closer when I get the bike out next. Maybe the tyre is closer than I think.

Sounds brilliant, I'll look out for it. I'm currently looking at a closeout frame though.

I think it depends on the frame size but it can be done one some;

The new spicy looks wrong, the top tube is bent and the shock attaches to the down tube , can't upload pic but found it on Twitter . Bright yellow in colour .

I like the look of the new zesty 527, bit unsure if it will handle lake epic rides and enduro with some BPW trips .

Crikey you're not wrong max. An ugly lapierre, what is the world coming to?
It's like Angeline Jolie having plastic surgery to give her a great big nose and thin lips!

Guvzor, sure the Zesty AM will be fine for that it is a very capable 150mm bike

Back end of zesty
