Yeah, decent enough and good at that price. The wheels are sometimes a bit shonky though so it's worth checking that the spokes are tight and that the hub cups/cones aren't loose.

I like my Langster Monaco but having said that, due to little use I'm selling it.
I swapped the bars over to proper drops and fitted road brakes rather than the cross top brakes.
No problems at all with the wheels. The shimano fitted freewhel lasted about 100 miles though. Absolute crap but replaced easily enough.
£280 if anybody is interested.
I'd be interested to know what turbo it was on. I can only find turbo's that work with qr wheels, not track nuts.

Great bike, use mine for a 20 mile commute, comfy fairly light and cheap as chips

I've had my Paddywagon on a turbo trainer before and that has track nuts.

Can't remember exacly what my Tubo is, think it's called an Elite or something like that. Anyway, can be done.

my langster's a couple of years old now - the old brown one with black forks. lovely bike - really enjoy riding it. bear in mind you'll need to fit something like sks race-blades for guards, which aren't as good as full guards, but will at least stop that finely-directed jet of cold water up your ar5e 🙂
the wheels are noted weak points, and mine were draggy when new, but after stripping them and sticking some decent grease in the hubs, and putting a few miles on, they run nice and smooth now. i've trued them once and they've stayed true. not uncommon to have to do that to machine-built wheels anyway.
think the shimano freewheels are a bit variable. i've had no trouble with mine, but i have a fancy freewheel to go on it eventually.
if you're buying from a shop, ask them to service the hubs and true the wheels, and for commuting get some continental ultra-gator skins tyres ( they're cheap on wiggle right now, if you can't get them thrown in ), and you'll be good to go.

i've used my langster in a turbo ( a tacx one ), just cranked the fittings down - it was ok, though not ideal. unless i had it pretty tight there was a bit of movement there.

my beto and cyclops turbo's work well with any axel, its just two cups that cover the QR/axel, one side having a slot to hold th eQR lever if there is one. Oddly th eCyclops one had a QR with it, but its just a normal shimano type design, presumably it doesnt like hope/salsa/etc style QR's.

Barca, I'd be interested, do you have the original bits to go back on?

i have full mudguards but also a special fitting to ensure i never lose that feature. 🙂

On a related point, does anyone know what chain tugs will work with a Langster? I'm fed up trying to adjust the rear wheel by hand so that it is centered in the frame.
