I have recently started a new job in Blackburn, and I live in Tottington. From my office window I can see Darwen Tower, and it makes me wanna just race up to it on my bike – my question is, to anyone with local knowledge - would it be possible to ride home from the tower in Darwen over the moors towards Turton, Edgeworth etc? and im talking decent trails, bridleways, tracks rather than full on swamp crossings, although I don’t mind a little bit of that to be honest. Ta.

Look for the signs for the Witton Weavers Way from Darwen Tower. You can't go wrong. Some great stuff too!!

What Lowey has been too polite to mention is that that's all his land. I think you can take the map he's sent as a tacit approval that he'll let you use it. Myself and his Lordship there will be riding some of that route this evening

I thought Lord Lowes land stopped at the Belmont Road.

or is he making hostile takeovers from the Blackburn end as well.

typical, you get these aristocratic country gentlemen and they think they own the entire bloody country 😆

A lot of the trails up Darwen Moor are marked as thus:

Heres what said 'footpath' looks like...

(Narrow ribbon of trail, isn't it...... 😀 )

The sign comes in useful though 😉
