You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Evening all.
I'm up to the Lakes this weekend - and am planning a big(ish) ride for the Saturday - bearing in mind the weather.
Any suggestions considering the forecast? Planning on Whinlatter on the Friday, and booked in for the Wheelbase demo rides on the Sunday.
I've got the Ian Boydon route book for reference:

GPSs files also greatly received...
Cheers and all the best,
Rich
We’re a bit under water at the moment, but the forecast looks to be drying up by the end of the week. Anything on rock should be ok. Borrowdale bash/ Ambleside big day out both doable between Whinlatter and Staveley.
not sure if wheelbase use garburn for any demo rides but the rest of kentmere was a horible wet mess a couple of weekends ago and we've had a lot more rain since then.
as above stick to somewhere rocky and even then be prepared to get wet, a lot of the trails have little rivers running down them. i'm really struggling at the moment to decide on routes to actually go and ride myself at the moment. best options i've found recently is getting up high if the weather is ok but wouldn't recomend fairfield in thick cloud and a gale like i did a few weeks ago.
Wheelbase Demo days are always filthy(bad weather)and the local trails will get trashed with the constant traffic which is a shame 🙁
Rich Bowman will send you a gpx of a brilliant circular route around Ambleside will involve a bit of pushing/carrying
have you ridden them recently rich, they're already trashed. i wanted a quick short ride from my mums a couple of sundays ago, wont be doing it again. first time on 3 rivers since the "repairs" and green quarter seemed a lot worse than it used to be.
Thanks all - much appreciated. Cheers for the GPS Rich, will check that out.
Ta again,
Rich
Take your hiking boots as well?
Jekkyl - normally speedcrosses. 🙂
Cheers,
Rich
Given the weather we've had, rocky routes are your friend- see current thread on Borrowdale Bash with extras, or one of the classic grizedale forest routes.
Last weekend I did most of the STW Classic Duddon Valley ride (issue 115 I think). It was wet but it was mostly surface water with no really muddy bits, it also stays fairly low so it was fairly sheltered from the wind.
