on the track from skiddaw house yha to mosedale, there is a track that goes up grain gill beck, and up over great lingy hill and high pike.
it then drops down onto the back of skiddaw route, to fell side.

is it worth doing? it looks visible on google earth.

anyone?

It's a carry from the track up to near Lingy, rock strewn and from memory tough to ride down due to it not really being a formed path. Bit of a blast out the back from the top, couple of ways out. Bit of a take only good friends with a sense of humour one.

Dunno about the way up but the descent back down ullock pike and longside edge is DEFINITELY worth riding!! (if only we were allowed....)

If you decide to do the circuit of Skiddaw be careful when crossing the steep gullies on Lonscale Fell; we've just scattered the ashes of my buddy John, who I introduced to mountain biking. The gullies are notorious for accidents:

I always walk the rocky bit there, too. Too much at stake if I cock it up.
