I'm going up to the Lakes and was thinking about getting a guide to ride some non trail centre stuff. I did a search on Google and one of the top results was Sublime Rides. Has anyone used them or know of them?
Cheers.
Or this guy http://www.lake-district-guiding.co.uk/jason-taylor.html
He's even featured on Countryfile
Think cyclewise up the north end do some too. Nice guys too.
I know a few people who have been on guiding and skills days with Sublime Rides. They all came back with rave reviews. The guides are proper good riders too.
Think they did a big day on one or couple of the big passes and they got a combo of huge views and natural riding but with skill improvement time on the more tech sections, rather than just your normal either ‘just guiding’ or just ‘skill courses’ days.
Hook up with everyone's favourite bike club the Bogtrotters for some Lakeland jaunts. Saturdays are relaxed and aimed at beginners and the fun crowd. Sundays are more arduous in pace, terrain and distance.

Give me a shout if you like? Know the area well and wrote a guidebook www.lakedistrictmountainbikeroutes.co.uk
My guiding business is just getting off the ground so preferential rates as I try and build it up.
PM me if you want to chat - no obligation or hard sell honest!
I've been out with Sublime Rides before and would highly recommend them to anyone whether you're looking to improve your skills or just have someone to show you around - or both! A great day out. Get on it!
After much deliberation I called Sublime Rides and spoke to Nigel. I ended up booking and had a good day out. He suggested a couple of places to ride neither of which I knew about. The trails were good and he obviously knows the lakes well. I even got some riding tips. Recommended.
Great thread, thinking of spending some time riding and getting to know the lakes this year as I've not been yet and this would be a good way to get as much as I can out of the trip and not have countless wasted days looking for trails
