Planning to start in Keswick in late May, I'm going to do it in relative luxury - get bags transported by one of the companies locally to allow us to enjoy the descents without huge bags.

Where to stay to break up into 3 days then?

On my radar but I know the Lakes well. Ian Barrington did the loop starting from Keswick, have a read of his blog - "Middle Ring all the way"

Cool, I'll have a read at that. I know the lakes pretty well too, the hard bit of working out the 2 stops isn't divvying up the distance, it's the climbing. Need to start train no and get the climbing legs on!.

Aye, but there's a few passes to negotiate!.

Boot looks a decent option instead of WH tbh, and it has a hostel too.
