Hello
Going to Lake Garda late june.
Have good technical skills, but not in very good shape at the moment( will improve it...)
Rides a Specialised camber
Would like to ride singletrack, technical, with roots, flow, rocks....
Not to much climbing...due to shape......
Could i combine it with som gondol?
Not a super map-gps user.... would be nice that it is not to hard to find the trails....
Any good mtb-tour guides ...?
And where to stay close trails... house or hotel... Oh the gf will join, so has to have a bit of a standard.... 🙂
Thanks !
Stayed in Malcesine before and cable car from there to top with bike hire from the cable car station.
is very busy with tourists in summer tho so I think bike uplift is limited to certain times of day.
cant comment on trails however as only managed some low level stuff myself.
Think further North end of lake is where a lot of biking is recommended too.
North of the lake has several shuttle companies, I recall that rate for single shuttle was about 15-20€ depending on location.
There is recent guide book, this one: https://issuu.com/edizioni_versante_sud/docs/issuu_eng
Also massive amount of e-bikes everywhere already last summer, can only expect more of them next summer. Joining them might be option?

Do you know where you are staying at the lake? As said the north part of the lake around Riva and Torbole is where most of the shuttle companies are based. If you are staying further south of the lake on the east side there is a local bus service that will take you to the top of Monte Baldo. Personally I would also be looking at getting myself fit enough to do some climbing on the bike as you’d be missing a lot of stuff too. Also around Bardolino and Garda there are plenty of hidden rocky single track gems in the surrounding mountains which are not so high (lower than 500m)
I stayed in Riva, loved it and really want to go back. Used this shop http://www.gardabikeshop.com/en/ to do a guided half day. Plenty of other options though.
It's ace. Malcescine is lovely, Limone is beautiful and the food is brill. I'm jealous whenever a Lake Garda thread comes up!!
if you don't have a guide you won't ride the best trails; see the link to Rebbens above. Uplift worth every cent as some of the descents start 6000ft above the lake and riding uphill in the midsummer heat is pretty soul destroying.
Hi there I have been to the lake and stayed at Garda a couple of times. i have ridden with Micheal from rebbens a couple of times, he knows the good routes, if you want rocks technical and rooty its all there in an abundance.
When I was with him he was using https://www.bikeshuttletorbole.com/
as the uplift provider. The guy that runs it is called Luca and again knows the best times to access the roads to good trails and avoid peak tourist times.
I think Micheal from rebbens runs his own uplifts now.
i did a review from the first time I was there its a great place to ride a bike!

Too late to look elsewhere?
Bolzano or Vinschgau are just a train ride away and offer better riding, imo
take the advise above and hire a good guide. Ive been to Torbole and just followed the standard stuff detailed from tourist info / MTB Garda website and it all got a bit the same by the end (apart from the DH stuff above Torbole), massive road climb followed by massive descent that ended up a bit disappointing and/or the same as yesterdays massive climb/descent. I got the impression that it's a bit like your local trails, the obvious official routes are ok but not that great, but someone who can show you the off piste stuff will make it special.
Guiding works out dead cheap (£20 a half day?) as there are usually several folk splitting the cost.
Thanks a lot for the reply`s !!! 😉
Another one for Michael at Rebbens. Awesome couple of days, technical riding with a downhill bias (thanks to the uplift in the morning). Torbole is a wonderful little place too.
And another vote for Michael, also recommend hiring a bike via him, you may be underbiked on a camber, he’s affiliated to liteville, perfect bikes for the area.
