Hello people...

So I'm trying to sort a Lakes mtb trip out for later in the summer, and having not much luck with accomodation...

We're thinking of doing Whinlatter one day, and some natural riding the next, so just want 1 nights stay (LOADS of places say 2-night minimum).

Also needs to be able to accomodate 4 - 6 of us, with secure bike storage (lots of places say "NO groups").

Also, needs to be within walking distance of a decent pub 🙂

Anybody used anywhere realyl good they'd recommend, for this sort of trip?

Thanks all...

12 of us stayed in the camping barn at Mags Howe in Kentmere last year for an MTB weekend. It's quite basic but it's cheap and breakfast at the farmhouse included if you want it. Also great views.
The pub is a few miles away in Staveley though.

Borrowdale YH has a bar in it, and 2 good pubs/eateries within 15 mins walk/stagger.

Keswick YH, spot on a group of us stayed last year doing a circular route of the lakes, staggering distance to the Dog & Gun or the George for a posrtion of the famous cow pie & some cracking ale too.

They also have bike storage.

Denton House - Keswick.

Cow Pie in The George is a must.
Beers in the Dog & Gun...though stuck my head in there a few months back and it's not the same as it used to be but the beer should still be good.

Ambleside YHA is brill but a fair way from Whinlatter.
