Anything worth knowing from locals? Going there tomorrow with a mate though it says 40% chance of rain but I’ll take the 60%. Travelling up from Cambridge way.

How much is parking? Any decent places to grab a snack afterwards?

Park in hope and ride up roman Road. Wouldn't bother trying to park near the res.

If you park in the carpark near the Ladybower dam I think it's £4 or 5. Fairholmes is more and you'll have to be there by 9.30 to stand any chance of a parking space

If you can get on the Ladybower Inn carpark you can finish the ride at the side of the pub and eat afterwards. They usually knock the carparking fee in the head if you are eating.

If you can get there a bit earlier you can park near the bottom end of the reservoir for free.
Cross the dam and head down to Thornhill, Aston and up win hill to hope cross. Allows you to finish near the ladybower Inn for post ride grub and a short roll back to the car.

Thanks very much for the tips guys, we ended up parking in Hope just along from 18 bikes although I didn’t have time to pop in.

Mostly avoided the rain although it was still fairly wet but grippy. We went clockwise which in hindsight might have been a mistake. Climbing up those rocks is very difficult I only managed short runs except for a couple I cleaned. Descending was such a laugh, line choice nope I just kind of ploughed through the middle.

Win Hill looked like it had loads of trails in the woods? I saw a few flashes of bikers zooming about in there. Both Hope and the town just along from it looked great for a weekend break so I’ll hopefully be back. Didn’t have time either to stop by Bakewell which was a shame as my riding friend almost survived on cherry bakewells until he was an adult!

@jekkyl if you have an other routes around the area I’d be interested in them? what’s a good time for the loop, we took a few breaks and chatted to a couple of bikers but the person who plotted the route had it down as 2 hours.

The Hope Valley is a great weekend destination. So much riding to go at in all directions. Edale has lots of great riding too all the way over to Chapel en le Frith.

And yes, lots of good riding off Win Hill too. Don’t miss out on a pop in to 18 Bikes either, nicest peeps in biking (IMO).
