I know I will need 18mm nipples and there are a number of ERDs listed for the rim on the web which doesn't help.

Am I going to be biting off more than I can chew?

It's going to be a rear wheel build if that makes a difference!

16mm nipples needed. Measure erd yourself to be sure, cut the bends off two spokes, loctite nipples and screw them on until spoke is about flush with the base of the slot, fit them into opposing nipple cups, and mark where they cross.Input your data into dt spoke calculator, inc nipple length, and it should be fine(don't forget to compensate for offset nipple beds if your rim has them).

They are quite a bit more difficult from a standard build, mostly as you can only drop each spoke in from the inside of the rim. The right tool (and some loctite) helps secure the cups, but even so makes the basic build stage take a lot longer than usual. Once you've got past that, it's the same as any wheelbuild.

As GavinB says, loctite the cups. I love building up these rims, as I load up the cups with nipples and loctite them in before beginning lacing and it takes no time at all... Furthermore, the rims are so stiff that they're really easy to get nice and round 🙂
