Well done to Gee..... But with no points on offer...... What happened to Rachel???  8seconds on such a short track - Did she have an issue or played it conservatively/tactics ?

First quali top step in years plus his result last time? I reckon he's enjoying it all again. Rachel is Rachel, I trust her spidey senses on the hill. And Vali Hoff is just epic.

I was thinking after the last race that Gee could pull off a comeback next season.

I suspect Rachel is holding back sue to all points being awarded on race day.

Lets face it as long as she's top 6 she'll win the over all.

Ed Masters seems to be having a decent few races too - think the EWS has given him a boost.

With no points for qually, what would be the point of Rachy smashing down to qualify first, but at the risk of crashing and spanering herself?

Also, as the track is new, and the weather possibly variable, qually track knowledge is unlikely to count for much in the finals tomorrow.

No points on offer, what's the point in qualifying top?

It's not massive but the top 20 will all be out about the same time anyway so no real weather advantage either.

Id expect the usual to rise to the top come race day

Not sure if that was a good thing having no quali points, just made qualifying a non-event, could have just had another day of practice and sent them down in order of ranking.

if it chucks it down in the afternoon, as it has been doing in the Alps for the last week, then it's beneficial to race early. Is that Greg Minnaar's thinking? (position 115)

Being a protected rider from last years overall rankings means Greg will still be off among last 20 riders in the final

I reckon it could be a proper buttock clenching race. The track is short and looks like there are (relatively) big time gains to be gained but from high tariff lines/moves.

I’m predicting some big stacks.

Gee is my pick for a superb comeback every year, I haven’t been right yet!

It's short so every hundredth of a second is going to count, so they're going to be pushing hard on a greasy techy jumpy stop-start course...Or: the overall's been decided Worlds in a fortnight so no one wants to get injured, turns it into a safety procession...

place your bets.

When Rachy just listed the names of the women she'd beaten over the years, wow, it really hits home just what a legend that girl is!

Unbelievable there!!

I think Brook summed it up for all of us there!!

Amazing result there but you have to say the Maes got lucky with the way the mud was in that critical section!!

Really chuffed for Meas, what a winner, and congrats to Pierron. Great to see Gee back on form as well and in the top 10 overall despite a broken hand!

Just caught up, great race. Didn't see that coming in the men's!

I think that Seagrave knows she can definitely do it so next season should be really good too.
