Hi
I have the opportunity to get a second hand KTM Scarp. I am after a lightweight XC full sus.
Does anyone have any experience of this bike as reviews and info on the internet is quite limited.
Thanks in advance
Andy
I've not swung a leg over one so will be of limited use. But I do remember a guy turning up at a race in Bedgebury on his Scarp - and whipped everyone's arses a couple of years back.
I do spend a reasonable amount of time in Austria and they're really popular out there. Nice and light and definitely suited to the kind of summer racing that the Germans and Austrians seem to love....hammering up a fire road, to hammer down a fire road. That may be doing them a disservice but they seem to favour race bikes with a more traditional geo - The Scarp fits that bill with a near 70 degree HA.
I believe Steve_b77 of this parish used to ride for KTM. I've seen him at a few races.
I have seen a limited number of videos where people say they are very good.
I have a KTM road bike and think its very good.
As a race bike it should be fast, assuming it's 29er. It's not the sort of bike I'd ride for general MTB though. YMMV.

I live in Austria as well, thanks for all the input. Just need to work out if it is the kind of bike i am after or a little bit too race orientated!!
Hiya 👋🏻 @andykentos
Yeah I've got one, I'm actually on my second as I bought the new model at the start of last year, it has revised more modern geo over the previous one, which I had for 4 years and absolutely hammered doing 12 & 24hr solo races, big long days of normal riding, normal XC races and all I had to do was change the pivot and shock rocker bearings once.
To be totally honest I can't fault it in anyway, it handles superbly, climbs really well and descends equally well.
If you want to know anything more drop me a DM and we can discuss over email.
Thanks very much, i am going to view it this afternoon and test ride it. I'll see how it goes...
