Anyone had any luck getting their KS dropper post repaired under warranty as my i7 has been with my LBS for 3wks and still no further as UK importer has apparently dropped them due to number of faulty units. After 3wks of emails to KS USA went unanswered called them to be told send it to France at my expense and they will look at it but although has 2yr warranty they advise might cost me and won't refund postage...
Not happy any suggestions welcome as currently and expensive paperweight 🙁

Come on RS sort out a 27.2 reverb please!

Can't comment on warranty claims as I've not had to claim yet, but what was wrong with it vetboy?

Your warranty is with the retailer - who did you buy it from?

Your warranty as above is with the retailer- it's their problem not yours, really. If they can't get it sorted in a timely manner then it's reasonable to ask for a refund.

KS won't be without a UK distributor for long, though.

Cheers for the advice -

The fault is that the saddle drops about an inch when you sit on it and when fully compressed the post rises up about 2inches.

My LBS are being very slow and claiming I might have to pay for it to be sent to the French importer for any repairs, and no reply from KS taiwan office either but you're both right I spoke to Trading Standards and under sales of goods act the LBS is liable but they're pretty good to me with other stuff so trying to help sort it out. Although its been 3wks so if they don't come up with something soon I will be asking for a refund. Only dilemma is as I have a 27.2 frame there is very little else apart from the fugly gravity dropper so would prefer to get it sorted as really got used to using one!

Oh bum.

Just checked my brand new KS Supernatural 272 post (not even fitted to bike yet), and it does the bouncing back up thing once fully compressed. It also doesn't lock down so can be fully raised by pulling up on the clamp. Is it knackered?

Don't think they're meant to lock in the down position like a reverb as even from new mine would move if you picked it up by the saddle when compressed. Don't remember the bounce from day one though?

Thanks for the link Sui explains why things have gone south with the importer but if what they say is true don't fancy my chances of getting it fixed under warranty.

ks seems pretty popular in the uk, im sure somebody will take them on, i other than rockshox they are by far the biggest name in dropper posts in the uk! and are massive in the us too... and they were long out before the reverb...

the thing is with the KS posts is, they are bloody good quality - ok some go wrong (like many a reverb) but they are not some cheap and tacky made product, they are of high quality and perform flawlessly in action

im sure somebody will take them on in the uk though!

There's no guarantee that a new importer will warranty posts bought through Pure Racing. In short - you might be stuffed.

I was very happy with the post until it stopped working but if what pure racing has said about the parent company not honouring payments for warranty work who will want to take that on? And as scotroutes points out will a new importer want to take on warranty work for posts they didn't sell?

I had this back today from an email to the taiwan office:

"As you know, Pure Racing ceased being our exclusive distributor and service center in UK. For the service work, we are discussing with our Europe distributors to figure out a better way to handle this part during the transition period. We will let you know the result as soon as possible. Hope to have your kindly understanding."

So no time scale on how long I will own an expensive paperweight then 🙁

Just take it back to the shop for a refund. They have to refund it if they can't repair it in a reasonable time. Certainly don't be paying to post it anywhere, that's their problem.

i recently bought one from actionsports.de... if there is a problem, that is where it will be going back to.

and, yes it will raise up if you pull it, as has already been confirmed on here.

i also have a reverb on my yeti which isn't as nice in terms of action as the ks i7 (although perhaps needs rebleeding), and i have a x-fusion jobby enroute from wiggle for the wife's bike.

seriously campfreddie? ive had the i7 and a reverb, and the reverb is light years ahead in both terms of smoothness and the way it operates (being able to change the speed etc)....perhaps needs a bleed or more air i reckon

ks posts are well made though as i said above, this isnt just some two bit product, its a really really good prodcut that mostly works and ks have had themost time getting it right, i cant imagine they will struggle to find an importer tbh, but unless this warranty issue SS say is as bad as they suggest then it will be the only problem, as the product itself is great

id have considered a ks lev but with this warranty thing looming theres no chance, ill take the reverb every day

I also have a reverb and must admit (even when they both worked, touches something wooden in hope reverb isn't about to break :o) I prefer the reverb as the remote lever on the i7 is a lot stiffer and has to curve out around the master cylinder on my brakes which is a bit messy.

There is another post on the forum today about a KS lev that won't compress so would appear pure racing had a point about them having to do a lot of warranty work!
