KS Lev Integra lose saddle clamp

I’ve recently noticed my seat clamp was lose despite the bolts being tight.

I’ve put in a new saddle and thought I’d notice what the issue was but I don’t have a clue. I’ve tightened up the bolts really tightly but the seat clamp anchor has a little play on the post. The seat clamp anchor slides up and down the seatpost and is pulled up when saddle is clamped in place, there’s nothing obvious that’s wrong with it.

Has anyone had this issue before? Here’s the clamp anchor

Have a look at the two plates that sandwich the saddle rails.

My money is on them being bowed.

Had this a few year back on a KS post and after about four sets of replacement plate gave up with them.

I've still got a bag full of bent straight and a couple of new ones somewhere.

I found an old Bonty rigid post in the garage and the plates off that fitted.

Never had a problem with it again.

Cheers. So it a case of the plates being slightly bent and not being able to be tightened enough?

Yep.

Take the plates off and you'll see how they're bent down in the center.

They end up bottoming out before the saddle rails are tight.

Thanks once again.

I guess most if not all plates should fit. I’ve got a spare post from my Cube and I’ll try the plates out.

Oh no. Could be a nightmare then. I’ll try my cube dropper post clamps first.

Well the clamps don’t line up, the spacing between the holes is bigger on the cube dropper.

@singlespeedstu Do you think I could pack out the clamp with a piece of an old inner tube to pack the rails out?
