After probably wasting two days of my life away reading up on dropper posts I finally purchased a ks eten, got it fitted today today and so chuffed with it. Really impressed how easy it was to setup and seems to be really smooth after a good ride this afternoon. These seem to be a bargain for £110!well worth try if you don't want a larger outlay. 🙂 only found it through an old post on here. Are many people using them?

Yup had mine a while its made it through the winter no worries but I fitted it with a decent cable as the one it comes with corrodes quickly and stops it working.

I've been looking at these too - good to hear they're ok.

Sorry for the slight hijack but, out of interest, can anyone shed any light on what differences there are over the KS Dropzone?

Breadcrumb - i think for the money you can't beat it. So simple to setup as well which is always nice. Only thing to be aware of is you need a 1.5mm allen key to put the grub screw in the the cable stop. Ended up having to buy one from Halfrauds.

Joolsburger - i'll keep an eye on the cable then. Seems to be ok for now 🙂

Nobby - dropzone is 2 or 3 times more in cost than the eten, lighter, has an ODI compatible remote and also available in different amounts of drop. I'm sure there are some other bits as well

Nobby,

I've just got a Dropzone from JensonUSA - £130 delivered give or take a few pence. Dropzone is 125mm drop whereas the eTen is 100mm, and it's a fair bit lighter too.

As for the 1.5mm grub screw, it managed to sever the cable somehow and I had to buy another one. I just stuck a 2mm flat-bottomed screw in there instead and it's holding fine. Easier to tighten too.

That's a good price £130!

Flying Ox- Don't suppose you know what thread the screw was you got? Might order a couple of spares, can just guarantee it will go missing at the worst possible time!

It was just a little M2 screw I had lying about, from B&Q I think. I chased through the clamp with an M2 tap beforehand, but it didn't need much for that extra 0.5mm. Probably would have been the same if I'd just used the screw straight away.

Thanks Ox - I managed to pick one up, with ODI remote, for £160 on Amazon. They come from Germany but it does avoid possible import duty etc. The non-remote ones are £140.

Good stuff. I got a remote with my, btw. And I think as it's below £135 there's no import duty to pay.

Nice. I'm never sure what to expect with stuff from outside the EU but was happy with the price anyhow.
