Got one of these in the week for about 100 quid on the basis that I wanted one but not for £200+. Took it out for a few very wet and muddy hours today and it works well, a tiny bit of play side to side out of the box but can't be felt when riding, the saddle clamp works well and it all seems fine, only time will tell if it's well sealed and will be reliable. It does not extend fully if you turn the bike upside down
(which I do to put my wheels, lube chain etc) but that lasts about a minute until the open bath damper sorts itself out so not a problem IMO. The cable is pants however and is already crunchy after one ride, like a few of these posts it's in a proper dirt trap position. Has anyone managed to bodge up something that keeps the crap out of the cable or is it just a case of sticking in an oiler and changing the cable for something decent?
