I'm hoping to get a dropper post soon, either a Lev Integra or an eTen - depends on how many gift vouchers I get for birthday and Christmas! My bike has stealth routing, so if I can get the Lev that's that. What I was thinking was if I get the eTen, I've read that it's worth replacing the cable for a better quality one, so how about routing it externally down the seattube and up to the bars using the currently empty guides on the downtube, rather than cable tying it to the other cables that all run under the top tube?

Perhaps too much vulnerable cable down near the cranks though?

I don't know if they sorted it but there was load of stuff in the press about the Integra being a bit of a pain if you had to remove the seatpost as it relies on cable tension to work. I have a standard Lev and run it along the underneath of the toptube but I had space there for it.

I think I saw something about them sorting that out

Yeah, they fixed that on new ones and offer the parts for free to existing customers, not bad.

The golden rule of dropper cables is, put it wherever works. I had to have my 2 bikes strung up differently because what worked perfectly on one stuck the cable into the wheel of the other.

I had my LEG routed like you suggested on my Norco and it worked great. I had 3 cables going down the downtube so I directed the Lev's cable exiting the handlebars joined in with that lot. A few sticky cable-tie things and cable tie-ing to existing cable and it worked a treat.

Thanks, guess it'll be a case of seeing what affords the best operation

the externally routed ones work much better with a guide around the seat tube, my ks one post came witha plastic onebut hope etc now make them integrated into a seat clamp

What I didn't think about - the LEV has a static cable (therefore the stealth is a bit pointless), the E-Ten doesn't so you may end up with different results once you have a loop of cable bulging around.

Hmmm. Stealth might be easiest!

That clamp looks neat
