So the set up is as follows:
Surly krampus OPS frame with 12mm thru axle chip(Single axle position, with a Shimano Direct Mount-only derailleur hanger) like here
Chris king 12x142 hub with shimano xt 8000 11sp(42-11) cassette, chris king bb with shimano 24 spindle adapter(1 spacer on the driveside as per manual), shimano xt 1x cranks. rim is nextie jungle fox II with surly knard. And the chain is rubbing on the tire when on the biggest cog.
Anyone encountered the same issue? any solution apart from "use smaller tire" or "add more bb spacers"(chris king are very specific about the amount of spacers) ?
chain rub is on the lower part of the chain only and derailleur is straight, i've replaced the dropout thinking it might be bent and it wasn't the issue as well.
Cheers

Ignoring the tyre first of all is the chain line alignment correct, or about correct?

IE in middle cog is the chain straight, or could the bb take an extra spacer?

I have the earlier krampus, where I can move the wheel backwards and forwards and that definitely helps having it as far forwards as possible.

My old MK1 krampus did this. I ignored it as it was only in the lowest gear when climbing out of the saddle. It's pretty tight back there.

Similar problem - 3 possible solutions:
1. Sorry, narrower tyre (no, i didnt want to either and would love a 2.8 cakeater tyre in the UK)
2. Narrower rim (going from 45 to 30 internal gained me around 2mm extra clearance either side of my Knard)
3. Your best bet is a race Face cinch chainset as you can adjust chainline with spacers AND flip the chainring (Surly do this in the new Pugsley)

I have gone with options 2 & 3.

Thanks for replies guys

i use 1x11 and chainline is good. straight on 5th cog. With 12x142 dropout chips the wheelbase is shorter than with the old qr dropout chips.

I ignored it as it was only in the lowest gear when climbing out of the saddle. It’s pretty tight back there.

I've been successfully doing just that so far. Just thought that there may be some fix as the components combination is quite common.

will prob have to do the same. (hate all these different bb/spindle standards)
